Pop Ups Func Spec – Alej
Project Overview:
Create an app that provides information on all manners of pop up shops (ex. estate sales, farmer’s markets, other pop up shops). Easy for sellers to set up events and shoppers to find events. Not as much of a selling platform as an informative one. The app advocates for people to get more involved with community events, and learn about the temporary installations in their cities (focus on DC for the moment).
Specific Overview:
Users looking for pop up shops should be able to personalise their searches in numerous ways: by pop up type, end date, price range, range of selection, popularity. Should be equally easy for sellers to upload their events, with space to put a short summary of the event, dates, contact information, etc. RSVPs and reviews can make the site even more interactive.
Risks and Assumptions:
Initially it might be hard to get people involved, the site won’t succeed unless there’s a constant stream of information. Also needs to be a relatively easy to navigate interface, too much complication can dissuade people from using.
Functional Requirements:
- Front End: ?
- Home Page: Large search bar front and centre so users can jump right into finding pop ups. Below shows a selection of the top pop up shops at the moment (maybe 5 or so). Has a side bar for sellers to be redirected to a page where they can put in information.

Vague Outline (counts as scheduling w/o dates):
- Learn the basics of the necessary coding platforms
- Home page setup
- Sometime before or after next stuff, how sellers put in their information and what guidelines are provided
- What happens when you hit the search bar
- Filtering the list accordingly
- Clicking on specific shops, what you see (tie in to #3)
- RSVPs (how do you send it out, how does the seller receive)
- Reviews
