How to Build a Website
Five days. Zero experience needed. One real website, built by you.
You will learn how to build a real website. Not a tutorial you copied. Not a template someone else designed. A website you made from scratch — with your name on it, your content in it, and your code running it.
In five days you'll go from opening a blank file to publishing a working multi-page website using HTML and CSS. No prior experience needed. Just curiosity and a laptop.
What We'll Do
Session 1
How the Web Actually Works
What HTML is, how browsers read it, and how to build your first page from a blank file. Headings, paragraphs, links — the building blocks of everything on the internet.
Session 2
Making it Look Good
Intro to CSS — the language that controls colors, fonts, and spacing. Your page goes from plain text to something that actually looks designed.
Session 3
Layout
How to arrange things on a page using CSS. Navigation bars, sections, sidebars. This is where it starts feeling like a real website.
Session 4
Images & Links
Adding images, creating a second page, linking everything together. By end of day you have a multi-page site.
Session 5
Polish & Publish
Final touches, fixing anything that bothers you, and showing your site to the group. You leave with something you're proud of — and the foundation for every other LabCats course.

// What Comes Next
This is just the beginning
How to Build a Website is the first step on the full LabCats path. Students who finish this course can move into JavaScript, game development, databases, and eventually building their own full-stack web apps — some of which have ended up in the Apple Store and in the Congressional App Challenge.
